E.H. Roth violin labelled “Jacobus Hornsteiner”, Germany c.1920

SKU: S691

Ernst Heinrich Roth’s Markneukirchen workshop, founded in 1902, produced many fine violins for the advanced student market, both under his own name and under several pseudonyms, including “Jacobus Hornsteiner”. This excellent example of the latter, modelled after Stradivari, has a bright, powerful, bell-like tone with great evenness and projection across all registers and positions. With very good clarity and character, this instrument will appeal to serious students with an interest in soloistic performance.
