Anthony Elmsley Cello, Basel, 1999
SKU: S585
New Zealand-born Anthony Elmsley originally trained as a cellist before embarking on a violin making career. After his London training, he moved to Switzerland, building new instruments and carrying out stringed instrument conservator work for the Basel Historical Museum. This attractive cello was made in Basel during this period and has been used as a studio teaching instrument by Elmsley over the last two decades. It speaks easily, with a balanced resonance which will suit advanced students or keen amateur players.
