Hill bows are made in four separate grades. Those stamped “W.E. Hill & Sons”, as this bow is, were the highest grade and were made with the best materials. The actual bow maker was Arthur Brown, who has left a cross on the tip face below the head mortice. Other identifying signs are “R” on the frog lining and “R62” on the stick beside the eye mortices. The bow has an octagonal, pernambuco stick and silver mounts.
